Ultralyd as such is closing down january first 2008, along with several other high profiled DR Units as part of the political manhandling and not very subtle censorship of the danish medialandscape.

The program will have a re-run on tuesday october 2nd at 2230h.

The unrest...

A little aber dabei to yesterdays posting on Vachina. To Helge Sander and others who might have a concern:

Inspiration to arise the chineese underclass, The People, could stem from the massive demonstrations for democracy (or against the dictatorship) that in these hours are on-going in Myamar (Burma) under the parole: Loving kindness Must Win Everything.

Chineese influence on Myanmar is so severe that the country has been desribed as the 24th province of China. Since 1989 China has supplied the military junta of Myanmar with military harrdware for a sum of two billion dollars, and basically has the country as a puppet-on-a-string. The chinese government ofcourse wishes the ongoing demonstrations to be solved in an orderly way, to distract attention from their own masses and uphold whatever international image Chineese administration have succeded in pushing. The upcoming Olympic Games in 2008 ofcourse holds a major value to China, and no way shall the world see hear or listen to the whimpering of The People while playing The Fair Games.

Anyways, Helge Sanders trip to China this week just adds to the picture of a Danish government which absolutely doesnt give a shit. Sorry I cant be anymore subtle.

a busy day ahead, a little something here to thnk about.

MADE IN VACHINA.....

Danish Minister of Science Helge Sander is this week off to China. In Danish free newspaper SØNDAGSAVISEN, he airs the motivation for trip under the headline : WE GOTTA LEARN FROM THE CHINESE:
Basically his ambition is to blow open the Chinese market through a series of strategies. Mr. Sander says to the newspaper:
“Generally China is interesting because it is one of the places in the world where things are moving really fast…” and continues “through the years there has been a lot of obstructions preventing collaboration with China, but that has luckily diminished over the last few years”

Nowhere in the interview does he even consider or mention the major democratic problem that without question is a vivid part of everyday reality in China. Though the country is many ways is on the (economic) rise, which Sander wants to profit from, China continues to be of the most polluted and corrupt countries on the face of the planet.
In another article on Sunday in Politiken professor Jonathan Unger (The Australian National University/Canberra, Australia) paints a somewhat more complex picture of the domestic situation in China:

He describes how the Chinese in the mid-eighties felt the Communist party tightening their power, and that they generally felt left out. That was the main reason their they/the middleclass took the streets in 89 (Tiannemen Square).
Once the commotion of the demonstrations had eased out the middleclass slowly gained what they asked for. Today the Chinese middleclass more or less have what they asked for: They payroll is up considerably, more and more Chinese have bought cars, they have gained access to the internet where they more or less can discuss freely, they can buy bigger and better apartments. Some democratic institutions have been formed but the press and NGOs are under heavy surveillance, but by far the middleclass have achieved what they wanted in the late 80s (does it sound familiar).
But the situation is put into a ironic gridlock formed by The People. 800 million chineese are still considered as “below middleclass” (the new underclass) and are mainly occupied in agriculture and the fastgrowing mass-industry. These 800 million chineese constitutes a threat to the middleclass. So fa,r the massive number (800 millions) is basically without influence on the political system, but alas: The People are learning fast, and demands are being put forward from the masses, and that means fear among the middleclass, that The People should rise as one and, considering their low and non-educated background, would choose a populistic solution/system eccoing the Mao heydays.

The point: The Middleclass doesn’t want democracy, they want selective democracy. Another point: Neither do we! The Chinese market at the Hands of The People is a major threat to the economical system, and could result in a whole new situation.
So: By any means: lets learn from the Chinese, and avoid the breakdown.
The situation, with Mr. Sanders admiration and full accept, without questioning basic democratic principles, seems to be a popular routine of danish foreign policy. This one not s clear as The Iraq War, but in way ways you could say: The more shrude, the meaner.

Enjoy the trip Helge.

I hate to be one of the ones who told you so, but there you have I will now tell you so.

The scar, the empty space left behind after the demolition of The Youthhouse (Ungdomshouse) after being bought and manhandled by the christian sect, The Fatherhouse, accordingly to Ruth Evensens religious vision of saving "Nørrebro from the terror of 500 stonethrowing psycopaths from hell"... have unfolded in total and mere...mental blur.
The Fatherhouse have sold, or put of for sale, the lot, after - I guess - fullfilling the religious vision. I am of the belief that they - The Fatherhouse - actually think they did Nørrebro a favour by powering the demolition. And sold now to a price offered to them by a fond trying to safe the Youthhouse which The Fatherhouse rejected with the CityCouncil on the sidelines washing their hands stating that that they are out of it and bare no responsibilty for the mess, even though they have had to pay a 100 millions* coronas to secure The Fatherhouse option to earn 12 million more that they actually paid for the house. What visionaries. Thank You God. Stupidity is the only sin.

As a writing goes on the heavily tagged churchyard wall opposite the Youthhouse-lot says:
"We are sorry Ruth. But you cant blame us that you got fucked as a child."
*the cost of clearing the Youthhouse: police-expenses, cleaning, insurancequestions and on and on and on...

So they have done it again. Called a meeting with a less than a days warning. Tonite at Nørrebrohallen Copenhagen City council have summoned to a meeting to explain the bigger idea behind the proposed 279 million corona cutback on child and youth politics. Ofcourse with a short notice the turn out will we thin, I for one cant go, and among parents, that seems to be the general....situation. Concious politics? I hope not - but really smells like it. Its the second time in a row they do.

Im off to BMX with my oldest son so I cant go into details here - time -.....
I was just informed that the meeting takes place 90 minutes ago, picking up my youngest. The employees of the various institutions have had 24 hours to prepare. Thats near-democracy, thats the concensus of shared democracy by Copenhagen Citycouncil.
I heard someone say: "Its like this: At christiansborg the assholes are on the right, in the Citycouncil its the left..." remembering that Copenhagen is runned predominantly by a leftwing majority. But as Lennard at DAMIOWH defines today, socialists arent happy, so why should they care about others peoples happiness, however boring it might seem.

One pissed of citizen. Blocks outs are on from friday.
